#BabesOfParadis / Marga Banaga

Introduce yourself.

Hello! My name is Marga Banaga, and I lost 52 pounds in 10 months through clean eating and exercise. I filmed my whole journey in the hopes of being able to inspire others to do the same. Growing up, I was always made fun of because of the way I looked. I struggled throughout the years with yoyo dieting, constantly losing the weight then gaining it right back shortly after.  I just had enough this year and really wanted to change for the better. So I told myself to just stick it out for 100 days. And it was so worth it!

Favorite beaches in the world?

Boracay is my go-to place!! I’ve been going at least once a year for 13 years now!!!  El Nido is so beautiful as well! I haven’t really been to a beach abroad but I do wanna visit Bali!

Standard beach drink?

Mojitos! Frozen, watermelon! Every kind!

What would you like to share about your own body confidence journey?

I am still slowly learning to love my body as it is in the current phase of my fitness journey. Growing up as the big girl, never feeling comfortable or confident, I am still learning to adjust to the “new” me. But what I can say is I now appreciate the things my body can do, I am proud of how strong I’ve gotten (being able to squat 145 lbs and deadlift 200 lbs hehe). I am done being insecure with my stretch marks because these are a reminder of my journey, they are a reminder of the day to day sacrifices I made to get to where I am today.

What is your favorite part of your body and why?

My favourite part of my body are my thighs. I honestly hated them growing up. My thighs are bigger than average so I always felt insecure. But because of my journey, I learned to love them! They are the strongest part of my body. With my  #TeamThickThighs I can do most lower body movements a lot better than others can! Its always good to try to be positive when you see a negative. Try and change your mindset!

Who in the world inspires you to love yourself?

I really admire Ashley Graham! Even if she talks about body positivity, she also stresses on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and working out. You can check out her ted talk on Youtube where she advocates for self-acceptance!

All time favorite life motto?

Seek to be worth knowing rather than to be well known.
